Week Three- I am not exactly techno-fluent, being a member of an older generation who only ventures occasionally into the lands of Gadgetaria and Technopolis. Personally, I find that I need to retreat frequently from those places in order to retain my inner peace and tranquility, artistic sensibilities, and sanity.

That being said, I have found several websites which have content that I find intriguing....

   www.booktv.org  (C-SPAN Non-fiction booknotes)

  historical-fiction.com

 HistoricalNovels.info

  and

 Crimethrutime.com

Thus, you see a couple of the facets of my reading interests.  Of course, there will be more to follow...

  1. Monty, with your interest in historical fication as well as crime, if you have not read it, I'd suggest "Devil in the White City" by Erik Larson. It is a book skillfully woven between the intriguing decade surrounding the World Exposition in Chicago in 1893 and a solitary serial killer at work in the same venue. Although it is a non-fiction book, the plot and the historical details of the explosion of the railroad, the migration of people to the cities, the architecture and the rivalries of cities to be first in the explosion of culture and technology make "Devil in the White City" read like a top-notch historical fiction. You'd appreciate the setting and the deatil.
